(Ultra)Sounding Out a New Way to Treat Chronic Pain
George K. Lewis is the biomedical engineering grad student at Cornell University who developed a portable ultrasound device for joint pain therapy. This kind of therapy is usually administered inside clinics, but being able to take it home has great potential for pain management. The device is soon slated to begin clinical trials at Weill Cornell Medical College.
